Features of ER316L TIG Rod:
- For welding 18% chromium – 12% nickel – 2½% molybdenum austenitic stainless steels such as 316 and 317 but with a low ferrite. It can also be used for welding 304/304L to 316/316L stainless steels in cryogenic service at temperatures down to -452 °F.
- The 2½% molybdenum content of 316L gives the weld deposit excellent corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures against “pitting” that may be caused by sulfuric, phosphoric and acetic acids.
- Specification: AWS A5.9/ASME SFA A5.9/ER316L; 1000mm length of rods with single end stamped; typical deposited chemical composition %: C=0.02, Cr=18.5, Ni=12.5, Mn=1.80, Mo=2.50, Si=0.35, P=0.01, S= 0.01, remain=Fe.
